Calendar: 10/30-11/02

This week in events! I'll make another post for things that will happen over the weekend soon. There is a bunch of things going on tomorrow!


Tuesday, October 30
Fine Arts Internship Fair - Tomorrow is the internship fair, so if you are interested in getting a job/internship, show up tomorrow at the Visual Arts Center in ART between 11 AM - 2 PM. Be sure to dress well and bring a resume, or just show up to have a look around.

Visiting Artist: James Welling - James Welling, a photographer, will be speaking tomorrow evening. "Since the late 70s and early 80s, his interest in the meaning and nature of photography has lead him to explore various subjects and photographic techniques." The lecture starts at 5 PM in ART 1.102.

Art21 Screening - UAHA (Undergrad Art History Assoc.) and the Austin Museum of Art are going to be screening the latest episodes of Art21. It will take place at the AMoA between 6-8 PM. There will be food, drinks, and an art activity!

Bach Cantata Project - "The Bach Cantata Project is a joint venture of the UT Choral Program and UT’s Blanton Museum. Performed at noon on the last Tuesday of each month of the fall and spring semesters in the beautiful Blanton Museum atrium, graduate choral conducting majors prepare, rehearse, and conduct these concerts that feature UT student and faculty musicians." Hear the project at the Blanton Museum Atrium at noon.


Wednesday, October 31
Wind Symphony - Come enjoy the excellent concert in the Bates Recital Hall at 8 PM. There's even a live broadcast online; more information here.

UAHA Mural Painting - The Undergrad Art History Assoc. will be painting a mural starting at 5 PM. More details can be obtained from UAHA President Mark Rosen; contact him at mark_rosen828@yahoo.com.


Thursday, November 1
College and Beyond: Getting Your First Job as an Actor or Producer - "Chase Masterson is a graduate of the Department of Theatre and Dance who has held a successful career as an actor and producer. Ms. Masterson's workshop will offer insight, tips, and practical guidance about how to get a job as an actor or producer. Payne Lobby. Refreshments will be served. Brought to you by Fine Arts Career Services." This workshop will be at the Winship Building between 3:30 - 5 PM.


Friday, November 2
Ashes, Ashes - "A show for family audiences, Ashes, Ashes tells the story of a power plant, a mythical town and one girl's search for a secret that can possibly save her world. Written by Eve Tulbert; Directed by Dustin Wills." The show opens! Tickets are 13$/16$/10$ available at utpac.org or by phone at 512-477-6060. It starts at 8 PM.

Alternative Improvisation Music Ensemble - AIME performance will take place at the Bates Recital Hall at 8 PM. For program details and information about the live webcast, check out the website.
