Calendar: 10/10-10/16

Here's the new weekly calendar, guys! Don't forget that tomorrow is the Cesar Chavez Statue Unveiling at 11 AM in the Main Mall.

Wednesday, October 10
Wind Symphony - Come enjoy the excellent concert in the Bates Recital Hall at 8 PM. There's even a live broadcast online; more information here.

Immigrant Narratives: Painting as Fiction - "Maceo Montoya is a California visual artist and writer who uses painting as a form of storytelling about the experiences of Mexican immigrants. Location: UN 4.206 (Texas Union Chicano Culture Room)." Be there by 12 PM.

Graduate and Professional School Day - This day is designed to inform students about all aspects of graduate school. Attend and meet with over 100 program representatives in the Texas Union Ballroom between 10 AM to 3 PM. For those in Studio Art, there will be workshops in ART 3.410A at 6 PM.


Thursday, October 11
Blanton Student Guild: Planning the first MIX Party - Join the BSG in discussing plans for the upcoming MIX Party on October 25th. The meeting will have refreshments! Show up at the Blanton Museum at 6 PM if you'd like to help out.


Friday, October 12
Jazz Orchestra - Come enjoy the excellent concert put on by both faculty and students in the Bates Recital Hall at 8 PM. There's even a live broadcast online; more information here.

Fefu and Her Friends - This provocative feminist play by Marie Irene Fornes opens in the Winship at 8 PM. It will also play through the 14th at 8 PM. Fees and Admissions: $16/$13/$10 available at utpac.org or 477-6060.


Saturday, October 13
David Viscoli on Piano - Distinguished pianist David Viscoli will be performing at the Jessen Auditorium at 8 PM. There will be ticket fees of $10 for the general public and $5 for students.

Few, Some, Several, Many, and More - "An exhibition on the theme of multiples, featuring work in a variety of media by artists from various areas of the Department and College. Opening reception is Saturday, October 13, 6:00 to 9:00PM." This exhibition is located at the Creative Research Lab and was curated by Jade Walker.


Sunday, October 14
Jessen Series: William Lewis - William Lewis, a tenor, will be performing with Lita Guerra on the Piano in the Jessen Auditorium at 4 PM. Tickets are $10 for students! There's even a live broadcast online; more information here.


Tuesday, October 16
University Orchestra - Enjoy the orchestra conducted by Richard McKay and Wesley Schulz in the Bates Recital Hall at 8 PM. Tickets are $5 for students! There's even a live broadcast online; more information here.
